A while ago, I was asked to make an ‘Englishy’ activity for a school open night. I made this poster, printed it on A3 and stuck it to the wall behind a desk. On the desk were sheets of coloured paper and pieces of magazines that had been cut out and laminated. The poster instructed those who came along to the activity station to create their poem using the magazine cut outs. The idea is to show how easy it can be to create your own poem, and delve into the world of words!
You could use this poster the same way I did, or provide scissors and glue in a classroom setting for students to create their own poems. It could be a useful activity for school open days or activity stations, as well as in a classroom.
